In response to the letter stating that illegal immigrants shouldn't have driver's licenses (Alyda Roetman, Sheldon, Iowa):
With all due respect, are you comparing illegal aliens to terrorists? Fact: None of the 9/11 hijackers entered the country illegally. Beginning in 1997, the 19 hijackers submitted 24 visa applications and received 23 visas (tourist and student visas). The 19 hijackers entered the United States legally a total of 33 times before 9/11.
So, are you saying that by not giving illegal immigrants driver's licenses we are going to stop terrorism? Those terrorists that you referred to got their driver's licenses legally -- and a driver's license is not the key to the White House.
