Thursday, Jan. 14 is Thank Your Mentor Day. As the Y Pals mentoring program coordinator, it is my privilege to find willing adult volunteers to spend some time each week with young people. I would love to talk to you if you’re interested in being a mentor, but what I’m writing about today is to encourage you to spend a couple of minutes and think about who has made a lasting impact on your life and give them a call.
It doesn’t have to be Thursday, just at some time this week. It could be a former teacher or coach, a neighbor who took you fishing, maybe an aunt or an uncle who would visit with you.
For all those volunteers past and present who have mentored young people here and around Worthington for Y Pals or with some other program, I just want to say thank you on behalf of the person you mentored and our community. You truly have made a difference.
