Congratulations to the Prairie Elementary K-Kids Club on a tremendous job of raising money for Pennies for Patients. The money raised goes to help Minnesota children with cancer and leukemia. Last year, K-Kids raised $1,712.24 for Pennies for Patients. This year, their goal was to raise $2,000. They actually raised $4,892.86. Isn't that incredible?

Mr. Zach Dingmann's fourth-grade room raised $308.36. This earned them first place among all the classrooms, and they will be rewarded by a classroom pizza party.

Seventeen Prairie Elementary teachers volunteered for a "pie-in-the-face" contest. Any student who raised money for Pennies for Patients had their name placed in a drawing to "pie a teacher." On Thursday, March 8, the entire school gathered in the gym and 17 student names were drawn; they got to "pie a teacher." The students and faculty had a very fun time with this, and it was a fitting celebration for a job well done.

A big thank you Ms. Stephanie Fletcher and Mr. Zach Dingmann, the faculty advisors to K-Kids, and to the K-Kids themselves. A big thank you, also, to all the Prairie Elementary students who participated, to the faculty, administration and staff for their cooperation and support.

Thanks also to the members of the Worthington Early Risers Kiwanis Club who sponsor and support the Prairie Elementary School K-Kids Club.
