Senator Grassley’s recent column regarding the recent confirmation of Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education was the classic case of elected officials not representing the wishes of a constituency. Our illustrious senators from South Dakota were much the same.
It’s interesting that they can rationalize something as absurd as appointing someone who clearly bought and paid for a position for which she is clearly unqualified. What’s more, in the next breath, Grassley says, oh well … .she doesn’t have any power anyway! It’s another one of those “I’m not sure that you inferred what I meant to imply” situations.
It just gets curiouser and curiouser.
