In Roger Elgersma's letter in the Daily Globe, he stated that Stephanie Herseth Sandlin and Nancy Pelosi have seen potatoes growing in Greenland where previously ice had covered the ground. Late in the 10th century, much of Greenland was covered with trees and farmland. Vikings moved in and farmed it. (Is there where Greenland got its name?) This continued on into the 15th century, until the ice took over. Man does not cause, nor can man alter, these solar cycles.
Mr. Elgersma wrote that if all the ice on Greenland melted, the oceans would rise by 21.3 feet according to National Geographic News. Is the same National Geographic organization that printed the pictures and story of "Archeoraptor," the bird-dinosaur fossil that turned out to be a hoax -- which National Geographic had to admit?
We should rejoice that Greenland can grow vegetables where ice used to cover the ground.
Mr. Elgersma failed to explain how the environmentalists stopped the Global Ice Age that scientists said was coming on us 25 years ago. Or, was that just a political hoax also?
If the oceans would expand, and with more heat, there would be more evaporation, raising the atmospheric humidity. South Dakota would probably get more rain and raise abundant crops.

Mr. Elgersma was right when he said we are a greedy people. God warns us not to be materialist-minded and seekers of pleasure only. We as Christians should be spending our time, efforts and resources on discipling the nations (Matthew 28: 19).
