It was our turn from our local Church of the Brethren group to host the cluster group from Sheldon and Sioux City this year. We wanted to do something different and chose to go to Pioneer Village.
We had our morning worship service at the small church (including ringing the bell at 11 a.m. and using the velvet offering pouches), a picnic lunch at the available picnic tables and then a tour of the buildings. It was a delightful day with all positive comments including, “What a treasure you have here.” Perhaps this would be an idea for other groups.
