Like many people in the area I have been following the various political "Letters to the Editor" in the Daily Globe over the past weeks. Of particular interest to me have been the "point/counterpoint" letters involving accusations from Richard Peterson against Rod Hamilton.
While I tend to lean a little toward the more liberal side of politics these days, I want to let your readers know that in my opinion there is not a better voice for southwest Minnesota than Rod Hamilton. Rod votes his heart and for bills that are good for his constituency; case-in-point, his vote last session on the Transportation Bill. Rod is receptive to comments and suggestions, and he truly works hard for his district. He is honest, sincere and has become highly respected at the Capitol for his integrity.
There are at least two things I totally despise about modern-day politics; 1.) Advertisements that don't speak to the attributes of the candidate and instead bash the opponent, and, 2.) Politicians that vote their party lines all the time just to stay in the good graces of their party so they get that endorsement the next time around. To my knowledge Rod has done neither of these things, and for that I say, "Thank you!"
The day I see Mr. Peterson come to my door is the day I slam the door in his face for what I feel is despicable behavior during the recent campaign.
