Letter: Hats off to newspaper for fine reporting

I know that it is more likely that someone will tell you when they think something is wrong or they don't like it, than it is to tell you when they like something or you are doing a good job.

I know that it is more likely that someone will tell you when they think something is wrong or they don’t like it, than it is to tell you when they like something or you are doing a good job.

That’s the reason for my letter. I want to say your staff has really stepped up in your last two editions. The local news reporting in the Wednesday edition was as fine as Daily Globe’s of old.

The Saturday edition, which included a story about local substandard rental housing, was very interesting reading. I will add your reporter, Karl Evers-Hillstrom, proved that real journalism still exists. I appreciate that he didn’t just report on what he heard at a meeting, but he took the time to go into the building to interview residents and take photos to support the story.

Having Ms.Buntjer’s, Ms. Sobotka’s and Mr. Evers-Hillstrom’s articles to read are appreciated a lot more than any news you can pull off the news wire. Keep up the good job with local and regional news.

The annual report edition was very interesting reading as well. Thank you.
