First, let's talk some football. Last year the most hated football team in the entire league was the New England Patriots. There was a whole mess of people in the New England area that thought they were the best team that ever was. The reason they were so loved in the New England area was because they were the best. I'm not from the New England area, but I hated the Patriots, because I wanted the Vikings to be the best.

The Patriots are choking this season without Tom Brady. I hate them less this season because they're not that good.

Fast forward to politics. One of Barack Obama's big issues is that the United States of America isn't that well liked in the rest of the world. He wants us to be more liked. The New England Patriots have shown us how to be better liked. We need to lose. We need to no longer be number one. That will make us a lot more loved throughout the world. I'm against that. I want the United States of America to be No. 1. I'm not against anybody else, but I'm for us. As selfish as it may sound, I want the rest of the world mad at us and trying to catch up. I don't want us to slow down so they can feel better.

The faster we go, the better for us and, in the long run, the better for them.

Barack Obama wants everyone in the world to be in the same boat. I don't. I'm for our team first. I'm not against any other team, but I'm for our team first. Furthermore, I don't think everyone on our team is equal. I think the members of our team that work the hardest should receive their just reward.

I don't believe, as Obama does, that we need to punish success in order to reward failure. I don't believe that the people who have sacrificed to make their mortgage payments should have to work even harder to make the mortgage payments of those who aren't making theirs. I'm against the Obama notion that the way to create equality is to bring the top down. The way to create equality is to bring the bottom up. The bottom doesn't come up by giving them a fish. The bottom comes up by learning to fish from the people that have been given the freedom to learn the best way to fish.

The election this fall doesn't balance on the nuances of political correctness. The election this fall will determine the direction the United States will go. Will we follow the direction of Barack Obama and reduce our status to equal that of the rest of the world, or will we follow the vision of John McCain to be the country that sets the example for the rest of the world to follow?

The New England Patriots didn't hurt the rest of the league. They made the rest of the league better. I hope the voters this fall will recognize that this election will determine if the United States of America is going to press forward and continue to lead the world. I pray we will lead.
