To the Editor:
As much as I agree with Ms. Cox's letter and her response (R-E, July 12), I wonder if she read the entire article?
My household is a typical double income family, meaning two parents both working. I work two jobs, neither of which puts me in the "golden salary" of over $15 and hour. I work because I have to put groceries on the table, gas in the car and clothes on my children's backs.
Do I like working like this? No. I will have to do it, even if they send all illegal immigrants away. I do it because our government is so clueless as to what it takes for a "normal" middleclass family to survive these days.
If you want to live here, become a legal U.S. citizen, learn English and struggle like the rest of us. If you can do that, more power to you.
