The present City Council has totally disregarded the conditions of oversight and the total amount of money that the previous Council had put in the contract with the YMCA. The YMCA has been given the authority to design the pool and have control of all the contracts with the contractors on this project. The YMCA will operate the new aquatic center. Does this sound like a city-owned aquatic center to you?
The best place for a community center, in my opinion, is an addition to the Memorial Auditorium, with kitchen facilities for senior dining.
