We moved to Worthington many years ago. At that time, the quality of education was a top priority because we had a child attending an old run-down school. The school rooms were so crowded that two students shared one old-time desk. The teachers were overwhelmed and underappreciated.
We were amazed at the quality of the teachers, class size, equipment and buildings in Worthington.
While we no longer live in Worthington, we continue to care deeply about the community, our former church and District 518. We are sincerely disappointed the voters apparently do not support the needs of “those kids” who desperately need a good education.
Those voters who have lost interest in supporting the needs of the Worthington schools should remember the pride they once had in District 518.
