Letter: A case of one bad bill following another

'If this bill becomes law, the majority of American citizens will actually be discriminated against'

Our Democrat-controlled government has recently passed the $1.9 trillion so-called "COVID-19 Relief Bill." Many people may not realize it, but a closer examination of the contents of this bill reveals the sad fact that only a small portion of the money actually goes toward COVID relief. As is usually, if not always, the case when the government starts throwing around enormous sums of money (our tax dollars), most of it will end up in the hands of the special interest groups that got the politicians elected.

Just a few examples from the "COVID-19 Relief Bill:" $135,000,000 for the National Endowment for the Arts, another $135,000,000 for the National Endowment for the Humanities, $50,000,000 for "climate justice" (whatever that means). You know the saying, "$135 million here, $135 million there; pretty soon you're talking real money! (Our money)." Granted, many people, including myself, will receive $1,400 stimulus checks; that is exactly how the wolves in sheep's clothing fool the majority of people into thinking that the $1.9 trillion is all going to help folks who truly are in desperate need due to the pandemic. If only that were true.

Now that this bill has been pushed through, these same politicians are trying to force the so-called "Equality Act" on an unwilling and I dare say mostly unsuspecting public. As usual, they give the bill a name that makes it sound like a good thing. Of course, everyone is for equality and agrees that no one should be discriminated against. The people that this bill are supposedly going to protect are not being discriminated against, anyway. The fact is they already have the same rights as every American, but that's obviously not enough for them. They want special rights created just for them — rights that will actually punish everyone else.

If this bill becomes law, the majority of American citizens will actually be discriminated against. Talk about reverse discrimination! If this bill becomes law, it will deprive the majority of Americans of many of the rights enshrined in the Constitution of the United States. Freedom of religion and even freedom of speech will effectively be done away with. Children will have their bodies surgically and chemically mutilated, even without parental consent. So much for parental rights! Doctors and medical personnel will have no conscience exemption for performing these abuses of medicine and science. So much for religious/conscience rights! Women will be forced to share locker rooms and rest rooms with any man who decides that he wants to be called a woman. So much for women's rights!

Space does not allow me to go into all the awful details of this misguided bill, so I urge you to check it out for yourself. Then, speak out! Let your elected officials, especially Senators Klobuchar and Smith, know that as a tax-paying citizen you respectfully demand that they begin to represent all of their constituents and stop bowing down to the extreme radical pro-abortion, pro-gender ideology, anti-family, anti-religion, and anti-American elites that fund their election campaigns and who are out to destroy our culture and our country.

Simply go to Klobuchar.gov and Smith.gov and make your voice heard. The so-called "Equality Act" is an abomination and needs to be stopped before it becomes law. Passing this insane bill into law would have disastrous consequences for the freedom and rights that all Americans now enjoy. It would truly be a travesty and a tragedy.
