When someone loses control of their anger and gets violent, we call the cops. When a cop loses control of their anger and gets violent, we have a problem. The problem is severe when a cop stoically murders someone while knowing he is on camera, fully thinking he will get by with it because he got by with 12 previous complaints. Police supervisors know which officers are causing the problems. I am not ready to think all cops are bad.
We do not like riots because many innocent people and property gets damaged., so we want the cops to control the people. When the cops are not under control, innocent people get hurt. So, we also want the cops to be under control.
The ancient Persians had a rule that everyone had to follow the rules. Because the king had to follow his own rules, Daniel got thrown into the lions den. Those that tricked the king into that bad law got hung. So, even when everyone including the law officers has to follow the rules, that doesn't mean that anyone can get by with making fools of the law.
Gov. Tim Walz called a special session to deal with cops not following the rules. We need this, and he needs our support to write a common sense and fair law. People also need to be safe from the law.
