Letter: Lake Okabena is awesome

We want to personally thank anyone who has played a role in improving the clarity conditions in Lake Okabena. Your dedicated efforts and hard work are paying huge dividends to anyone using Lake Okabena for any recreational purposes.

We are not going to try and list names, civic organizations, watershed districts or governmental agencies that have participated because we will forget someone. You know who you are.

Hopefully everyone has noticed how clear the lake was this past summer. It’s a remarkable improvement from previous years. We are all so fortunate to have Lake Okabena as a venue for our very busy parks, concerts and community events.

Thank you so much for the people who are working so hard to preserve and improve our greatest asset — Lake Okabena.
