Minnesota Capitol Notebook: Republicans who've opposed the executive powers took a more targeted approach this week, aiming to push back on two areas weighing most heavily on the minds of Minnesotans: reopening schools and businesses.
The plan would allow for raising capacity limits on businesses and gatherings unless COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations hit a certain threshold.
The plan included aid for businesses hit hardest by the pandemic and more funding for unemployment insurance.
State legislators and Gov. Tim Walz put forward their priorities for state support to businesses and workers and said they would approve them as soon as they could reach a deal.
