Blair Anderson, 69, of Fairfax, Minnesota, died from his injuries after a large branch from a tree struck him while he was cutting down several trees at a farm southwest of Olivia.

The severe weather that had been expected to hit west central Minnesota over the holiday weekend did materialize. Hoff was killed after being stabbed, allegedly by his mother's boyfriend. Houston Morris has been charged with three felony counts of second-degree murder.
Three counts of second-degree murder have been filed against Houston Allen Morris, of Olivia, who allegedly stabbed and killed the 13-year-old Isaac Hoff, son of his girlfriend early Thursday morning in Olivia.
A 13-year-old boy died of a stab wound after being transported to the Olivia Hospital and Clinic on Thursday morning. His mother is recovering from injuries. A man known to the victim is in custody.

Inclement weather proceeded throughout much of the day, with an expected 6 to 10 inches of snowfall from the storm being expected by the time the storm started tapering off in Kandiyohi County on Friday evening.
