MARSHALL -- Collin Lovell scored 23 points and picked up seven rebounds to lead the Windom Area Eagles to a 56-41 win over Montevideo during a non-conference boys' basketball game Saturday at Southwest Minnesota State University.

The Eagles took a six point lead into halftime and used strong defensive play in the second half to increase their lead to 15 by the end of the game.

Nathan Remmers was second on the team in scoring for Windom Area with 13 points to go along with seven rebounds.

The Eagles (11-9) travel to Luverne Thursday for a key Southwest Conference matchup.

MARSHALL -- Gina Hauge had a team-high 15 points for the Windom Area Eagles in a win over Montevideo during a non-conference girls' basketball game Saturday at Southwest Minnesota State University.

The Eagles took a four-point lead into the second half and went 17-for-30 from the free-throw line in the game to get the victory.

Rachel Sorenson was second in scoring for Windom Area with 14 points, followed by Kelsey Hanefeld with 13 points.

The Eagles host Redwood Valley Tuesday in Southwest Conference action.

ST. PETER -- Marita Rasche scored 16 points and had seven rebounds for the Jackson County Central Huskies in a loss to St. Peter Saturday.

The Huskies trailed by just six points heading into halftime, but Jackson County Central's offense went cold in the second half and could not recover to get the win.

Lydia Brandt picked up nine points for the Huskies, while Kaylee Burmeister grabbed 10 rebounds to go along with six points. Rachel Johnson chipped in eight points on the night and Angela Handzus added three steals and four assists.

The Huskies (8-16) travel to Worthington Thursday to face the Trojans in their final game of the regular season.
