State boys soccer: Trojans open with Orono Tuesday

The Worthington Trojans will open Minnesota state Class A boys soccer tournament play on Tuesday against Orono.

Game time is 5:30 p.m. at Farmington High School.

Orono (15-3-2) is the No. 4 seed in the tournament. Worthington (18-0-1) is seeded No. 5.

In other first-round games Tuesday, Totino-Grace (1) plays unseeded Chisago Lakes at 7:30 p.m. in Farmington, Austin (3) plays unseeded Bemidji at Prior Lake High School at 5:30 p.m., and St. Thomas Academy (2) plays unseeded St. Paul Harding at Prior Lake at 7:30 p.m.

Semifinal games are Monday, Oct. 30, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. The third-place game is Tuesday, Oct. 31, at U.S. Bank Stadium at 8 a.m. The championship game is Nov. 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium at 10 a.m.

A charter fan bus will leave the Worthington High School student lot at 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Seats are $10 and the deadline to sign up in the WHS main office is 4 p.m. Monday. All stdents grades K-8 must have an adult with them for supervision.
