Blue Mound Figure Skaters take first place at Minneshowdown

LUVERNE — The Blue Mound Figure Skaters were represented at the Minneshowdown, which took place April 13 at Doug Woog Ice Arena in St Paul.

Thirteen rinks were represented at this team-events-only competition, and the Blue Mound Figure Skaters came home with the first-place trophy. Skaters in the Blue Mound club took part in the following events:

Team Compulsory FS 2: General Mills Girls (second place). Team Compulsory FS 3: Viking Queens (second place). Team Compulsory FS 4: Stick It (second place). Team Compulsory FS 5: Purple Girls (first place). Small Production Team: Baby Sharks (second place). Large Production Team: The Price is Right (first place).

Blue Mound Figure Skaters coaches for the Minneshowdown event were Courtney DeBoer, Katie Kopp, Cathy Shearer and Katie Shearer. The Blue Mound Figure Skaters members who went to the competition represented the Minnesota communities of Adrian, Luverne, Pipestone, Worthington, Hills and Lismore, as well as Brandon and Elkton, S.D.
