REDWOOD FALLS -- The hitting, defense and pitching were sound for the Worthington Trojans as they secured their first high school baseball win of the season on Thursday.
Michael Iverson earned the mound victory, going five innings while walking three and striking out three. Will Brandner pitched the last two innings to earn a save.
The Trojans had 10 hits in the game, led by Turner Rogers who collected two safeties while driving in four runs. Ben Rogers and Daniel Pavelko had two hits apiece. Brandner and Iverson both had a hit and drove in a run.
Worthington (1-5) left the bases loaded in the sixth inning without scoring, but scored two insurance runs in the seventh.

EDGERTON -- Grant Jansma and Marshall Wagner combined for a no-hitter to lead Adrian to a six-inning victory over Edgerton/Southwest Christian.
Jansma threw five innings and struck out five, while Wagner struck out three in an inning.
Brent Hokeness had three hits, including a double and a triple. He drove in two and scored twice.
Brady Vortherms had two hits, including a double, and scored three times. Trace Kremin was 2-for-3 and scored a run.
Jacob Van Dam drew a walk for E/SWC.

SLAYTON -- Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey scored all its runs in the final two innings in a victory over Murray County Central.
MCC, meanwhile, scored its only run in the first inning.
Abraham Stoesz threw all seven innings and struck out 11 for MLA/C. He also had a hit and drove in two runs. Adam Karschnik drove in two runs, while Zach Spinks had an RBI. Brett Willaby had two hits.
For the Rebels, Spencer Wajer threw 6.1 innings and struck out four. Four different players had a hit for MCC. Wajer had a hit and scored a run, while Justin Benda drove in a run. Nate Everson and Danny Blankenship each had a hit.

Luverne 10, Pipestone 0
LUVERNE -- Colby Crabtree, Ben Serie, and Jake Haugen all went 2-for-3 for Luverne in its Big South victory over Pipestone. Derek Lundgren pitched all 5-innings for the Cardinals with three strikeouts, and scattering five hits. Isaiah Byrnes pitched 4-innings for the Arrows, en route to the loss.

MOUNTAIN LAKE -- Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey survived a four-run sixth inning by Murray County Central to edge their Red Rock Conference counterparts by a run.
Molly Carnell had three hits and hurled a complete game for the winners, allowing 12 hits and striking out six.
Amanda Muecke took the pitching loss for MCC, working six innings and allowing 15 hits.
Laney Brown had three hits for the Rebels, and Courtney Schmitz added two.

ELLSWORTH -- Sierra Van Dyke earned the victory in the circle and had three hits to lead Edgerton/Southwest Christian to a victory over Adrian Area.
Van Dyke had nine strikeouts in seven innings.
Hannah Nerem had two hits, scored twice and drove in two, while Jessa Nibbelink had three hits.
AA’s Avery Balster also threw a complete game and had two hits for the Dragons. Shawna Rogers was 2-for-3 and drove in two runs.

Pipestone 6-12, Windom 3-1
PIPESTONE -- Adrianna Johnson pitched the entire first game for Pipestone in its 6-3 victory over Windom. Johnson had six strikeouts, and two walks en route to a win. Mandi Miller went 2-for-3, Kaitlyn Draper went 2-for-4, and Mara Taubert went 1-for-4 with 2-RBIs for the Arrows.
Kaitlee Huska went 2-for-3 with a homerun for the Eagles, and Reegan Elder went 2-for-4.
Jessa Reinhert started the second game for the Arrows striking out 1, and walking four. Hallie Jackson started for the Eagles striking out three, and walking six.
Mandi Miller led the Arrows at the plate going 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs, and Carmen Skyberg went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Huska went 2-for-3 for the Eagles and Elder went 1-for-3.

Lincoln JV 5, Luverne 2
LUVERNE -- Sioux Falls Lincoln JV won all four singles events. Luverne took two of the three doubles matches.
At No. 1 doubles, Matt Sehr and Cole Stoltenberg beat Lincoln’s Henry Hoft and Jonathan Nash 6-1, 6-4. At No. 2 doubles, Cardinals Jordan Winter and Carson Ehde won 5-7, 6-4, 10-4 over Joshua Brower and Isaac Stewart. The LHS third team of Ben Danielson and Phillip Baker were topped in two sets.
Cardinals Matthew Jelken (first singles), Graham Cunningham (second singles), Colin Schoeneman (third singles) and Pierce Cunningham (fourth singles) were all beaten in two sets by their Lincoln counterparts.
Red Rock Conference
ADRIAN -- Murray County Central’s Abby Hamman (87) edged Hills-Beaver Creek’s Kailey Rozeboom (88) for girls medalist honors in the Red Rock Conference golf meet, and MCC’s Jack Pierson carded a 76 to earn the boys title.
Murray County Central won the girls team crown with a 355. Next was Westbrook-Walnut Grove with 380, Adrian 382, Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda 431, Red Rock Central 441, Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey 467 and Hills-Beaver Creek 468.
Lexy Ruesch of HL-O/F had a 92. Ciera Tutt of MCC had a 98.
HL-O/F won the boys team title with a 336. Southwest Christian had 388, Adrian 394, MCC 398, RRC 393, W-WG 409, H-BC 413 and MLA/C 461.
HL-O/F had three strong boys scores, with Joe Fischer scoring 80, Payton Marquardt 82 and Cory Renneke 83.
