All-Big South softball, boys tennis teams named
Worthington High School senior Sydney Ponto and freshman Haley Grimmius earned big division All-Big South Conference softball status, and teammates Sophie Wietzema (sophomore) and Payton Sauerbrei (junior) were named honorable mention.
In the conference’s small division, all-conference selections went to area players Blaney Johnson, Keylee Rossow and Abagail Turner of Jackson County Central, Billi Connell, Rylee Olson, Sydne Johnson and Halle Hough of Luverne, Mandi Miller, Paige Ahrendt, Kaitlyn Draper and Mara Taubert of Pipestone Area, and Ellie Maricle and Kaitlee Huska of Windom Area.
Honorable mentions were given to Ashley Heinrichs of JCC, Courtney Nath of Luverne, Mallary Remund and Carmen Skyberg of Pipestone Area, and Halle Jackson and Paige Vancura of Windom Area.Doeden, Merrigan, Jenson earn tennis honors
Blaine Doeden, Sullivan Merrigan and Kipton Jenson have been chosen All-Big South Conference in boys tennis for the west division. Teammates Jordan Winter, Ryan Newman and Ben Lopez are honorable mention selections.
Other area all-conference players include Cole Stoltenberg and Matt Sehr of Luverne and Jackson Winter of Pipestone Area.
