Monday night high school sports roundup:

Boys soccer

Waseca 1, Worthington 0

WASECA -- Twenty-five minutes into the second half, host Waseca scored the only goal of the game Monday in high school boys soccer play against Worthington.

Goalkeeper Ricky Rodriguez made two saves on the same sequence, said Trojans head coach Juan Flores, but couldn’t keep it out entirely.

“The ball just went in over his head a little bit. He dove to try to keep it out of the net,” said Flores.

Worthington had nine shots on goal compared to Waseca’s six.

“I think we actually played well throughout the game,” Flores said. “We controlled the tempo. My defense played very well. We just needed to find the back of the net. We just couldn’t do that today.”

Light rain hit the field minutes before warmups, but there was no more rain after that.
