Sioux City West 59, Worthington 41
SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- Coming off a big win against a tough Southwest Christian team two nights ago, Worthington was looking to maintain its momentum in a road game against Sioux City West.
However, the Wolverines had other plans in an 18-point win.
“We didn’t play with the intensity we needed off the bus,” WHS head coach Eric Lindner said. “We are hoping to bring that tomorrow.”
West maintained a 10-point lead through much of the first half and into the second before it opened a 20-point lead.
“It just wasn’t there tonight,” Lindner said. “We couldn’t get a lot of opportunities.”
WHS had the deficit down to 13 points, but the Wolverines bumped it back to 18 to finish the game.
The Trojans were plagued with turnovers, more than 18 Lindner estimated, that led to easy baskets for West.
Worthington is home on Friday against Redwood Valley for Parent’s Night and Meet the Trojans.
