Gov. Tim Walz called a four-week halt on Minnesota high school sports starting Saturday, which was the date set for the second round of section football games in the area. But some teams were able to move up their Saturday contests to Friday night.
Section 3 Nine Man will have 6 p.m. games Mountain Lake Area at Hills-Beaver Creek and Edgerton at Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda. There will be a 6 p.m. game in Slayton featuring Wabasso and Murray County Central which will be called the Section 3A championship.
Other Friday night games scheduled are Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial at Pipestone Area in Section 3AA, and Sibley East at Luverne in Section 3AAA.
After Friday, the Minnesota high school football and volleyball seasons are ended.
