ROCHESTER -- The outside shooting was underwhelming for both teams, but Minnesota West committed 26 turnovers to Rochester's eight as the Yellowjackets prevailed in a college men's basketball game on Saturday, 77-59.
The Bluejays hit just four of 22 3-point shots and the Jackets made just three of 20. The turnover ratio was solidly in Rochester's favor, and the free throw shooting was, too. West converted just seven of 16 at the line, compared to Rochester's 18 of 26.
Jerome Cunningham scored 22 points to lead Rochester. Elijah Williams and Cornelius Wright scored 15 and 10, respectively, for West.
Jacquez Stoudemire had six rebounds and three assists for the Jays. Mekiel Twyman had 10 rebounds and Nick Feit had four assists.
