Wagner finished her final season at LHS as a matchup nightmare for opposing teams. Wagner doubled as a primary ball carrier and post player for the Cardinals. Wagner averaged 18 points , 8 rebounds, three assists, and three steals per game. Wagner worked hard and was pivotal in the Cardinal’s march to the Section 3AA championship game appearance. Wagner was recommended by several coaches as the best player in southwest Minnesota.

Madison Brouwer

Sibley-Ocheyedan Generals
Brouwer has been an important piece for S-O the past five seasons. In her senior year S-O had a 22-4 record and lost 61-56 to Dike-New Hartford in the Iowa Class 2A semifinal. Brouwer had 19 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 3.3 steals per game. Brouwer scored 494 points and finished with a career total of 1,638 points. Brouwer was a mismatch for teams in the Siouxland Conference, she can run the floor with speed, and box out like no other in the post. Brouwer had 118 offensive rebounds and kept the Generals ahead of teams through second chance scoring.

Alyda Vande Griend

Vande Griend was the leading scorer in the Red Rock Conference with 447 points this season. Vande Griend was also a problem for teams sweeping the boards with 278 rebounds on the season. Vande Griend is greatly admired by area coaches. She has been called a game changer, play creator, and the engine for Edgerton girls basketball. Vande Griend was vital for the Flying Dutchmen in their two Section 3A playoff victories. Vande Griend finished her junior season ninth on the all-time Edgerton scoring record with 1,177 points. Vande Griend has 806 rebounds in her career.

Makenna Moss

Southwest Minnesota Christian
Moss was the main inside scoring threat on a loaded SWC girls basketball team. Six Eagles players were named to the All Red Rock Conference teams. Moss was a presence around the basket for the Eagles as she scored 370 points on the season, and averaged 12 points per game. Moss – a consistent shooter – was second in the conference in field goal percentage. Moss led the team in boards with 200 rebounds.

Isabel Klumper

Westbrook-Walnut Grove

Isabel Klumper was the leading scorer on the Westbrook-Walnut Grove team which went 18-8 in the regular season, and earned the second seed in the Section 3A South tournament. Klumper was the primary ball handler and was a threat of scoring from anywhere. Klumper scored 18.3 points per game and had a season total of 475. Klumper was effective with the ball in her hand, keeping cool under pressure with under a turnover per game. Klumper surpassed the 1,000 point mark this season and currently has 1,103 career points. She has a tremendous work ethic and was the key piece for the Chargers for their first winning season in five years.
