Amateur baseball: Fairmont, Milroy, Hadley headed to state tournament

Hadley joined Fairmont and Milroy as Region 13C representatives at the Minnesota Amateur Baseball Class C State Tournament with a 4-0 victory over Windom in game three of a best-of-three third-place series on Sunday.

Hadley joined Fairmont and Milroy as Region 13C representatives at the Minnesota Amateur Baseball Class C State Tournament with a 4-0 victory over Windom in game three of a best-of-three third-place series on Sunday.

Hadley defeated Windom 6-1 on Wednesday in Game 1 and Windom came back to tie the series on Saturday with a 13-3 victory.

Fairmont swept Milroy in the championship series 10-0 and 2-1 to earn a first-round bye in the state tournament.

Hadley opens the state tournament against Region 4C second-place finishers Cannon Falls at 4 p.m. on Saturday in Norwood. The winner advances to play Region 16C champions Fergus Falls.

Milroy plays Region 6C third-place Henderson at 5 p.m. on Sunday in Hamburg. The winner will play the Region 3C champions Union Hill.

Fairmont earns a bye and will face the winner between Region 10C second-place Crookston and Region 12C third-place Buffalo.
