HERON LAKE - Visiting Lamberton scored a single run in the top of the 12th inning Sunday to nip Heron Lake 4-3 in an amateur baseball game.
The inning started with a hit by pitch, and the runner went to second base on an errant pick-off attempt. He took third on a ground out to third base, then scored on a one-out Tyler Reiner single between shortstop and third base when the infield was pulled in.
Derrick Jenniges was the winning pitcher. He pitched the last two innings and struck out three batters.
Chad Knutson, who also pitched the last two frames, took the loss.
Seth Guetter and Christopher Eichten each had two hits for Lamberton. Octavio Jiminez had three hits for Heron Lake and Trey Cranston had two hits in his amateur debut.
