ST. PAUL — Minnesota has scheduled 17 special youth deer hunts with limited numbers of permits available for the fall of 2020. Applications will be taken via the electronic license system until Aug. 14.

Apply at any of the license vendors around the state or at http://licenses.dnr.state.mn.us . The application cost is $1, and those selected must purchase a license prior to the hunt. Applicants must be at least age 12 and under age 16 at the time of the hunt.

Hunts may be cancelled or changed due to COVID-19 concerns. Prior to participating in the fall 2020 hunting season, hunters should refer to the DNR’s COVID-19 response web page at mndnr.gov/covid-19 for the latest information.

Area state parks that will host youth deer hunts are: Blue Mounds State Park (Earn-A-Buck), Nov. 21-22; Camden State Park (Earn-A-Buck), Oct. 24-25; Kilen Woods State Park (either sex), Oct. 24-25; and Lake Shetek State Park (antlerless only), Nov. 21-22

A lottery will take place if applications exceed the number of permits available in each state park.
