Boys basketball: G-LR moves on in district tournament

GEORGE, Iowa -- George-Little Rock defeated Marcus-Meridan-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union 85-42 in the quarterfinals of the Iowa Class 1A, District 2 high school boys basketball tournament on Thursday.

GEORGE, Iowa -- George-Little Rock defeated Marcus-Meridan-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union 85-42 in the quarterfinals of the Iowa Class 1A, District 2 high school boys basketball tournament on Thursday.

Landon Jumbeck scored 27 points while hitting seven of 14 3-point shots. Lucas Nagel added 16 points and Caleb Terhark had 15.

The Mustangs connected on 10 of 21 3-point shots in the game.

The win allows G-LR to advance to the semifinals Tuesday night with an 8 p.m. game at George with Trinity Christian of Hull.

G-LR is 19-3 on the season.
