AUSTIN -- In their first game of the Southern Division schedule, the Minnesota West Lady Jays basketball team dominated Riverland Wednesday, 90-41.
Katherin Ihnen scored 31 points with 21 rebounds, Emily Haubrich had 20 points and eight assists, Andrea Hinkeldey scored 16 points and Avery Van Roekel scored 12.
Five-six guard M’Kayla Mike had a surprising 12 rebounds.
Minnesota West started the game in a press and roared to a 13-0 lead. The Blue Devils turned the ball over 25 times for the game.
“We did a nice job of setting the pace,” said West coach Rosalie Hayenga-Hostikka, who praised her team’s efforts in the transition game.

Samantha Siskow had 12 points for Riverland, and teammate Mahsima Alkamooneh had 11.
