AUSTIN -- The Riverland Blue Devils beat the Minnesota West men's basketball team 80-74 Wednesday night in the Bluejays' Southern Division opener.

Kuol Chol led West with 18 points while dishing out four assists, grabbing seven rebounds and blocking two shots. DeShawn Pickford led the Jays with 20 points. Alex Preston had 13 and Ki'Shawn Syph had 9 points with eight rebounds.

Minnesota West hit 36.5 percent of its field goals and 14 of 17 free throws.
