PALATINE, Ill. - Ben Goodwin won three matches to earn the championship at 174 pounds for Minnesota West Saturday in the Division III National Invite.
Goodwin defeated Garrett Miller of Rochester 5-2 in the finals. Last week in a dual meet, Goodwin lost to Miller, whom he has now beaten in two of three matches this season.
West’s Jared Nickman went 3-1 to place third at 157 pounds. Kareed Williams went 1-2 to place fourth at 125 and Michael Tanner went 2-2 to place fifth at 149.
Rochester won the eight-team tournament. Minnesota West placed fifth.
