ADRIAN -- Twin sisters Amanda and Ashley Overgaauw placed first and second in the Red Rock Conference girls cross country meet Monday in Adrian, and teammates Brylei Schreier and Ella Stapek placed third and fourth, respectively.

Amanda won the individual title in an outstanding 18:35.90 clocking, and Ashley finished in 20:27.00. Schreier came in at 22:00.90 and Stapek in 22:54.40.

Kody Wassman of Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey was the boys winner, in a 17:54.60 time.

Tim Salentiny of Heron Lake-Okabena was second in the boys race (18:06.50) and MCC/Fulda's Evan Bumgardner (18:13.90) was third. Fourth place belonged to Mason Hamm of Southwest Christian/ Edgerton (19:04.50). MLA also placed fifth and sixth with Zach Klassen (19:13.20) and Luke Klassen (19:26.90). Dylan Graff of Adrian/Ellsworth was seventh while Caden Swoboda of MLA was eighth, Silas Stapek of MCC/F was ninth, and Ethan Sas of SWC/E was 10th.

The first non-MCC/F girl to finish was Southwest Christian/Edgerton's Madison Fick, who was fifth in 23:20.70. Adrian/Ellsworth placed sixth and seventh with Hiltyn Heitkamp (23:23.70) and Keyona Klingenberg placing eighth (23:39.50). Megan Bakke of MCC/F was ninth and Kinsie Nelson of SWC/E was 10th.

The MCC/Fulda girls easily won the team championship with 19 points, followed by SWC/E with 61, Adrian/Ellsworth 71, MLA/C 76 and HL-O 155. The boys team title went to MLA/C with 35 while MCC/F had 49, A/E 80, SWC/E 85 and HL-O 109.
