ADRIAN -- With a 4-3 victory over Jackson County Central, and a 15-4 decision against Edgerton, the Adrian Dragon baseball team opened their season with two victories Saturday.
Against JCC, the teams needed an extra inning to decide the winner.
After JCC opened up an early 3-0 lead, the Dragons responded in the bottom of the third.
With the bases loaded, Brett Nowotny (2-for-3) had an RBI single, and Tanner Loosbrock followed with a two-RBI hit to score Jordon Kontz (2-for-3) and Glen Kruger.
Neither team could push across a run in the next four innings, but in the bottom of the eighth, the Dragons scored a run to win the game.

Ben Suedkamp (1-for-3, double) led off with a walk, and Justin Weidert reached on an error. After Joey Bertrand walked to load the bases, Adam Diekmann drew the game-winning walk to give Adrian the victory.
Diekmann earned the victory on the hill, throwing six scoreless innings on two hits while striking out three.
Ryan Rasche (3-for-4, solo home run) started the game on the hill for the Huskies (0-1), and allowed three runs in four innings while striking out eight.
Tom Burmeister and Devin Bezdicek each had a pair of singles for JCC.

In Adrian's second game of the day, the Dragons scored 12 runs in two innings en route to a non-conference victory Saturday.
Kontz earned the victory on the mound, throwing four innings, while allowing two runs and striking out eight.
Loosbrock started on the hill and allowed two runs in two innings.
For the Flying Dutchmen (0-1), Marty Van Peursem picked up the loss.
Kruger led the Dragons with two home runs, while Kontz also hit a round-tripper for Adrian.
Nowotny, Bertrand and Diekmann each had two hits, while Mitchell Voss had a two-RBI double.
Van Peursem and Jordan Gunnick each had a double for Edgerton.
Adrian will travel to Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Tuesday.
