MINNEAPOLIS - The Minneota Vikings proved to be too much of an offensive powerhouse for the Adrian Dragons to overcome.

Minneota jumped off to a quick 14-0 lead and never trailed Friday, completing a perfect season with a 42-21 victory over Adrian in the Class A Minnesota high school football championship game at Mall of America Field at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome.

Adrian, which finished its season with an 11-3 record, closed to within a 28-21 midway through the third quarter, but Minneota would maintain the advantage the rest of way. The Vikings, who averaged 51 points per game entering Friday's contest, finished the year 13-0.
