E/SWC softball team sharp in doubleheader sweep; MLA/C routs HL-O/F

The Edgerton/Southwest Christian high school softball team topped Adrian/Ellsworth 13-1 and 21-0 in a pair of games on Thursday.

ELLSWORTH -- The Edgerton/Southwest Christian high school softball team topped Adrian/Ellsworth 13-1 and 21-0 in a pair of games on Thursday.

In the first game, Hannah Pap and Addison Fleischman had two hits apiece. Fleischman was the winning pitcher, striking out nine.

Shawna Rogers, Summer Holland and Claire Hoffman had one hit apiece for A/E. Rogers doubled.

In the second game, Maren Nerem went 3-for-4 with three runs for the winners, and teammate Tyra Snyder was 2-for-2 with a home run.

Paris Van Dyke struck out nine batters for the win.

MLA/C 18, HL-O/F 4

HERON LAKE -- Ella Dockter, Brooke Naas and Kayleigh Schumann all had three hits as Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey rolled over Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda 18-4. Naas drove in three runs.

Alana Morey was the winning pitcher, going five complete innings. She struck out eight and also drove in three runs as a hitter.
