WORTHINGTON — The Worthington area community is supporting a family with medical assistance following Tuesday's football practice, during which Tristan Sauerbrei experienced a serious medical issue.
A GoFundMe Page and account at United Prairie Bank in Worthington have been set up for Sauerbrei, who was transferred to the hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. before being transferred again to a facility in Iowa City, Iowa.
The GoFundMe account had raised more than $16,000 by Friday afternoon. People wishing to donate at the local bank may make checks payable to the Sauerbrei family and drop them off at United Prairie Bank during business hours.
Sauerbrei's medical condition has not been officially released.
People have been showing support by sharing Sauerbrei's jersey number 12 on social media.
Tristan is the son of Stacy and Kari Sauerbrei.
