Thursday night high school football:

A/E 34, Cathedral 20

ADRIAN -- Adrian/Ellsworth won its second straight game and advanced to 3-4 on the high school football season Thursday with a 34-20 victory over New Ulm Cathedral.

Dawson Krahling, who rushed 18 times for 154 yards, scored the Dragons’ first two touchdowns on 1-yard and 31-yard first quarter carries. Cathedral took a 14-12 lead into halftime, but in the third quarter A/E’s Breyer Hieronimus put the Dragons ahead on a 4-yard TD pass to Isaac Bullerman.

After New Ulm scored again to retake the lead, A/E scored two more times in the fourth quarter. Quentin Wolf scored on a 5-yard run, then with 9:01 to go Hieronimus intercepted a pass on defense and returned it 35 yards into the end zone.

Jaren Winselman had 14 tackles for Adrian/Ellsworth on defense, and teammate Rilee Heidebrink had 10.

Fairmont 28, Luverne 18

LUVERNE -- In the showdown of Cardinals, Fairmont got the better of things by scoring a touchdown in every quarter and holding on for a 10-point win.

Zachary Jorgensen completed four TD passes for FHS, on 23-yard, 5-yard, 57-yard and 3-yard aerials.

Luverne’s Casey Sehr threw three touchdown passes for Luverne, the first one a 25-yard strike to Gannon Ahrendt, the second an 18-yard hookup to Ashton Sandbulte, and the third a 20-yard completion to Eli Radtke.

Fairmont out-gained Luverne 285 yards to 238 in total offense.

For the game, Sehr completed eight of 15 passes for 105 yards. Sandbulte rushed 21 times for 99 yards.

H-BC 24, RRC 6

HILLS -- Cole Baker rushed 30 times for 135 yards and scored twice as the Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots defeated Red Rock Central 24-6.

Baker scored his touchdowns on 14 and 17-yard runs. Oliver Deelstra also threw a touchdown pass to Austin Allen from four yards out.

H-BC (5-2) finished with 374 total yards. RRC totaled 188 yards of offense.

Deelstra completed 14 of 24 passes for 138 yards.

On defense, Donovan Leenderts led the Pats with 12 tackles. Baker had nine tackles and one quarterback sack from his defensive end position.
