SLAYTON -- Abe Paulzine passed for two touchdowns and ran for a touchdown to lead Murray County Central to a victory over Sleepy Eye in a high school football game Friday night.

In the second quarter, Paulzine ran for a 17-yard touchdown and completed a pass to Tanner Graphentten for 23 yards for a score. Ross Engelkes added a 5-yard run in the same quarter. Paulzine completed a 1-yard touchdown pass to Christian Tentinger in the fourth quarter.

Paulzine finished with 179 yards passing and 63 yards rushing for the game. Engelkes had 43 yards receiving and 147 yards rushing. Tentinger ended with 83 yards receiving.

YANKTON, S.D. — It was a struggle, but the Minnesota West women's basketball team trimmed host Mount Marty JV 76-75 Tuesday night while overcoming a 12-point deficit with about five minutes remaining in the game.

DANUBE -- Unbeaten Hills-Beaver Creek met unbeaten Renville County West and the West won.

Scoring in every quarter, the Jaguars held the Patriots scoreless in the first half and eased to their fifth victory in as many starts. H-BC is 4-1.

Justin Roelfs scored the Pats’ only touchdown in the third quarter on a 14-yard pass hookup from teammate Sawyer Bosch.

Bosch completed eight of 11 passes for 68 yards in the contest and Roelfs caught four for 44 yards. Riley Tatge had three receptions for 42 yards.

Renville County West rolled up 400 yards of offense, including 273 on the ground. H-BC finished with 190 total yards.

MVL 36, Adrian/Ellsworth 15

ADRIAN -- Cole Thompson rushed 15 times for 129 yards and a touchdown, and completed seven of 15 passes for 163 and three more scores as Minnesota Valley Lutheran defeated Adrian/Ellsworth.

Thompson threw to William Kaesermann for a 16-yard TD for the first tally of the game. He also completed a 31-yard scoring pass to Kyler Flunker while running four yards for a touchdown.

For Adrian/Ellsworth, Mechak Ndikubuntu scored on a 7-yard run in the second quarter and Lucas Essman scored in the fourth on a 58-yard carry.

MVL amassed 404 yards of offense while Adrian/Ellsworth had 322.

Rilee Heidebrink had 20 carries for 93 yards for the Dragons. Essman carried four times for 96. Quarterback Breyer Hieronimus completed six of 12 passes for 97 yards.

MOUNTAIN LAKE -- Host Mountain Lake Area took charge with a 22-point second quarter and eased past Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda.

Theodore Evers scored two touchdowns, Ethan Rahn scored two, and Evan Karschnik scored three times.

For HL-O/F, Brenton Erdmann threw three touchdown passes -- the first to Logan Gass covering 27 yards, the second to Gass for 17, and the third to Gavin Leighy going for 61.

Erdmann finished with 15 completions on 24 attempts for 223 yards, with one interception.

Owen Olsem had 14 tackles and Aiden Lorenzen had 11 for HL-O/F. Teammate Wyatt Meyeraan had nine tackles including one for loss. He also had a fumble recovery.

LSH 30, Windom Area 16

WINDOM — Le Sueur-Henderson outplayed Windom Area, overcoming a 16-10 first-half deficit by outscoring the Eagles 20-0 in the second half.

Quintin Tietz completed eight of 22 passes for 155 yards for Windom Area, with one touchdown and one interception. His TD pass was to Tucker Renquist, who caught two aerials for 101 yards in the game.

Teammate Abe McKibbin rushed nine times for 44 yards.
