BASEBALL HL-O/F 7, GEAC 5 GLENVILLE -- Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda amassed 14 hits in a 7-5 high school baseball win over Glenville-Emmons-Alden-Conger on Friday.
Matt Madsen had three hits for the winners. Taylor DeWall, Jacob Burdick, Eli Becker, Eli Fest and Ethan Becker all had two. DeWall drove in three runs.
Eli Becker started on the mound for HL-O/F and pitched the first four innings. Tyson Dirks pitched the last three innings in relief and earned the win. GEAC had the bases loaded with nobody out in the last inning but failed to score.
Tyler Lair took the pitching loss.

Olivia Tanke was exquisite pitching for the Knights, going six innings, striking out seven, and allowing one hit in a 5-1 LCWM victory.
LCWM leading hitters were Kaitlin Ewy who went 2-for-4, Jacie Schultz who went 2-for-4, and Paige Sittig who went 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
The Wolverines’ starting pitcher was Molly Carnell who went six innings, giving up seven hits, striking out six, and giving up four runs.
Destiny Sybounheuan was the only MLA batter to get a hit against the Knights.

The Eagles’ varsity scorers were Jacob Cory (41), Tylan Porath (42), Jackson Roll (44), and Parker Alvstad (45) for a total score of 172.
Scoring for the Arrows’ were Cody Thompson (41), Alex Rashke (44), McCaden Biever (46), and Zack Budden (47) totaling 178.
The Windom Girls took 31 less shots than Pipestone Area, winning 192-223.

The Eagles’ scorers were Lily Mellstrom who was the medalist, with 46. Sophia Nelson had 47, Paige Pigman 48 and Allie Ward 51.
Pipestone Area’s top scorers were Emma Budden with 52, Jenna Kerkaert 54, Lauren Lapthorn 58 and Courtney Kanthak 59.
