WASECA -- Anna Volk scored an overtime goal at the 4:56 mark to break a 2-2 tie and give Windom Area a 3-2 win over host Waseca in Wednesday girls hockey action.
The goal, shot when the teams were at even strength, was Volk’s second of the game. She scored a first-period goal, with an assist from Abby Ignaszewski, that gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead heading into the second period.
Windom made the score 2-0 in the second on a Molly Boyum goal, assisted by Jolyssa Higley-Purrington and Madelyn Schumacher.
Waseca outscored Windom Area twice in the third period as Jayde Pederson scored both goals.
Windom Area won despite being out-shot 42-25 in the contest.
