Girls tennis: Pipestone Area tops Worthington 6-1

PIPESTONE -- The host Pipestone Area Arrows captured six of seven girls tennis matches from Worthington Tuesday.

Worthington's lone victory came at No. 3 doubles where Marah Darling and Neveah Schrieber bested Anne Baartz and Gianna Njau 1-6, 7-6 (4) and 10-3.

Pipestone Area's Paige Ahrendt was a 6-0, 6-2 winner over Maggie Putnam at No. 1 singles. Lauren Lapthorn won 6-0, 6-0 over Kessey Aljets at No. 2 singles. Olivia Lapthorn defeated Worthington's Cynthia Souksavath 6-3, 6-4 at third singles, and at fourth singles Tricia Nissen topped Madison Johnson 7-6 (4), 6-0.

At first doubles, the Arrows' Courtney Kanthak and Carmen Skyberg won 6-2, 6-2 against Worthington's Ivy Jenson and Jasmine Riley. At No. 2 doubles, Adrianna Johnson and Maciah Lorang beat Cindy Hernandez and Perla Rodriguez 2-0 and 2-0.
