Heron Lake outslugs Worthington in amateur ball

WORTHINGTON — Heron Lake outscored the Worthington Cubs 19-12 in an amateur baseball game Wednesday. There were 33 hits in the game and 10 errors.
The Lakers scored five runs each in the second and fourth innings to take a 10-6 lead, then held their lead throughout.
Ryan Swanson went 4-for-5 at the plate for Worthington. Teammates Tate Gaul, Tyler Linder, Triston Sauerbrei and Tommy Lais all added two hits for the Cubs. Lais collected three RBIs.
Heron Lake finished with 17 hits and Worthington had 16. Worthington committed seven errors in the contest.
