Heron Lake tops Worthington 10-5 in amateur baseball

The Heron Lake Lakers broke open a scoreless game with four runs in the second inning and went on to beat the Worthington Cubs 10-5 Wednesday night in an amateur baseball contest.

WORTHINGTON -- The Heron Lake Lakers broke open a scoreless game with four runs in the second inning and went on to beat the Worthington Cubs 10-5 Wednesday night in an amateur baseball contest.

Ryan Swanson and Tyler Linder pitched for Worthington.

Linder went 4-for-4 at the plate with a double, scoring two runs and driving in two runs. Teammate Will Brandner was 2-for-2 with a triple and a run scored.
