SLAYTON -- Kellan Johnson had it all working for him Tuesday in Murray County Central’s baseball clash with Red Rock Conference opponent Edgerton/Southwest Christian.
The senior tossed a no-hitter as the Rebels defeated E/SWC 10-0 in a five-inning game. Johnson struck out nine batters in the win, but that wasn’t all. He was 3-for-3 with two doubles, two runs and 3 RBIs for the Rebels.
Teammate Brady Kremer was 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI, and Mason Woldt was 1-for-3 and knocked in three runs.
The Rebels scored all the runs they needed with three in the first. After adding two in the third, they scored five more in the bottom of the fifth to end the game.
Jaden Bloemendaal took the loss.

MARSHALL -- Worthington scored seven runs in the top fifth inning to take a 7-1 lead, but Marshall came roaring back with two runs in the bottom of the fifth and six in the sixth to take the win.
The Trojans had opportunities to score earlier in the game, but failed to capitalize as they left seven runners on base in the first three innings.
Kenny Morris got the win for the Tigers.
Logan Huisman had three hits for the Trojans, while Tucker Sorenson and Easton Sauerbrei all had two hits.
The Trojans fall to 11-5 with the loss.

LAMBERTON -- Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove’s Taylor Bunting struck out 17 batters in six-and two-thirds innings as it defeated Adrian on Tuesday.
Cole Pankonin was 3-for-4 for RRC/WWG, while Corey Maras was 2-for-3 and Trevor Pederson was 1-for-2.
Mitchell Wagner had two of the Dragons’ three hits, while Zack Loosbrock picked up the other.

Dylan Hillesheim pitched six-and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and striking out eight. He also was 2-for-4 with a run.
Sam Grev was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run for MLA (7-7, 3-4), while Austin Windschitl was 2-for-3.
Ethan Becker had two hits for the Wildcats (2-12, 2-6).

MOUNTAIN LAKE -- Rylie Tollafson went 3-for-4 at the plate with five RBIs as Mountain Lake Area rolled pas Heron Lake-Okabena.
Tollafson doubled and tripled in the game and also stole a base. Teammates Destiny Sybounheuan, Taylor Naas and Jordan Boldt each added two hits for the Wolverines.
Faith Kazemba had a pair of hits for the Wildcats.
Molly Carnell pitched seven complete innings to get the win. She allowed six hits, walked nobody and struck out three.
Kazemba took the loss.

ADRIAN -- Kaitlyn Rindfleisch had three hits and scored twice, and Rachel Kedl went 2-for-4 with three RBIs to help Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove to a five-inning win over Adrian.
Meghan Shannon also had two hits for RRC/W-WG, which had 13 hits in all.
Hannah Stevenson pitched the full five innings for the winners, allowing four hits, walking four and striking out three.
Avery Balster was the losing pitcher.
Devin Dreesen was 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles for Adrian and teammate Kristina Cauwels stroked an RBI double.

EDGERTON -- Liz Buckridge was perfect at the plate for Edgerton/Southwest Christian.
No, she was more than perfect. Perfect is getting a hit each time at bat. Buckridge not only went 3-for-3, but all three of her hits were home runs. She drove in six runs in the six-inning game against Murray County Central.
She also was the winning pitcher, going the distance and allowing eight hits and striking out seven. She allowed just one earned run as the Flying Dutchmen committed five errors behind her.
Teammate Chynna Berning was 3-for-3 with a double, home run and two RBIs. Gabby Buckridge and Jaidyn Henstra also had three hits apiece.
Brooklyn Miller, McKenzie Delong and Laney Brown all had a pair of hits for MCC.
Amanda Muecke was the losing pitcher.

NEW ULM -- New Ulm held Worthington to only one hit across both legs of a doubleheader as it won 12-0 in six innings and 15-0 in four.
Meleah Reinhart threw a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts in Game 1, and Mariah Piotter threw a one-hitter with one strikeout in Game 2.
Christina Shorter got the lone hit for the Trojans.

WESTBROOK -- Paige Pigman of Windom Area earned medalist honors by four strokes to lead her team to the championship of the girls’ Westbrook-Walnut Grove Invitational.
Pigman shot an 83 at Westbrook’s Rolling Hills Golf Club, coming in with rounds of 42 and 41 strokes, to eclipse second-place Avoree Bakken of W-WG, with an 87. Alexia Kemper of Adrian shot a 90. Windom Area’s Hallie Will and Heron Lake-Okabena’s Sarah Madsen both had 95. Lynneigh Vrooman of Fulda had a 97 and Gabby Grams of W-WG had a 98. Sam Freking of HL-O also broke 100, with a 99.
Windom Area had 392 total strokes, eight ahead of runner-up Westbrook-Walnut Grove with 400. Murray County Central and Heron Lake-Okabena had 404 (MCC finished third based on a tiebreaker). Adrian totaled 421, Red Rock Central 422 and Fulda 436.

Fulda Invitational
FULDA -- Jack Pierson of Murray County Central narrowly defeated Fulda’s Justin Dierks for medalist honors at the boys’ Fulda Invite, but it was Dierks’ Raiders who won the team title.
Fulda scored 337 points for first place in the meet involving nine teams. Westbrook-Walnut Grove was second with 346 points, followed by MCC with 348. Windom Area was next with 365, ahead of Southwest Christian/Edgerton with 368, Adrian 396, Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey 403, Heron Lake-Okabena 405 and Red Rock Central 409.
Pierson carded a 77. Dierks shot a 78.
Tyler Groves of MCC and Jeremy Vander Woude of Southwest Christian/Edgerton tied for third with a 79, and Cole Bunting of W-WG was next with an 82.
Aiding Dierks in leading Fulda to its team victory was Cory Renneke with an 83, Payton Marquardt with 86 and Brandon Everett with 90.
SHERBURN -- Jackson County Central’s Abby Benson earned medalist honors as the JCC girls defeated Martin County West 200-232. The Huskies boys defeated MCW 164-178.
Grace Benson shot a 51 for JCC, while Regan Farmer and Sydney Sadusky each scored 52 to round out their score.
Skylar Tumbelson shot a 49 for MCW, while Leah Amborn shot a 52, Kate Lyon shot a 63 and Heather Trumbold shot a 68.
Jack Brinkman earned medalist honors on the boys side with a 38, while Scott Flatebo shot a 39, Alec Kocak shota 41 and Zach Torgerson shot a 46.
Dawson Weber scored 40 for MCW, while Tristan Rabbe scored 42, Carson Kahler scored 46, and Nic Miller carded a 50.

LUVERNE -- Luverne clinched the Big South Conference West division championship with a 7-0 victory over Pipestone Area on Tuesday.
With No. 1 singles player Chris Jelken out of the lineup, the Cardinals shuffled things up a bit.
“The kids responded better than I had even imagined,” Luverne head coach Greg Antoine said. “Mark (Robinson) played great at 1 and all the other singles followed suit and played well.”
Robinson defeated Tristen Pals 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Cade VerSteeg defeated Riley Longstreet 7-6(7-3), 6-3 at No. 2 singles. Matt Jelken defeated Jackson Winter 6-3, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. And Ethan Thorson defeated Cade Baartman 6-0, 6-3 at No. 4 singles.
At No. 1 doubles, Dalton Schoenman and Layne Curtis defeated Noah Oaken and Cole Oaken. At No. 2 doubles, Jim Erickson and Isaac Gillette defeated Dalton Pottratz and Cole Zephyr 6-0, 6-1. And At No. 3 doubles, Trey Baustian and Luke Jarchow defeated Taylor Mollema and Cory Cooper 6-0, 6-1.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Sioux Falls Lincoln (S.D.) swept Worthington 9-0 on Tuesday.
Gage Gohl defeated Blaine Doeden 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. Trace Dobson defeated Kyle Janssen 6-1, 6-0 on No. 2 singles. Gavin Schmidt defeated Brandon Harberts 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. Briton homer defeated Sully Merrigan 6-3, 6-4 at No. 4 singles. Landon DeBoer defeated Kipton Jensen 6-0. 6-0. James Yousel defeated Cade Lindner 6-1, 6-2.
