WORTHINGTON -- An 11-run second inning propelled Worthington to a 21-6 victory over Edgerton on Tuesday.
Tucker Sorenson hit a grand slam for the Trojans, and was 2-for-2 with 6 RBIs. Eli Gaul was 2-for-2, Logan Huisman was 3-for-4 and Eric Heidebrink was 2-for-2.
Jaden Bloemendaal and Josh Agresto each hit doubles for Edgerton.
Tyler Linder started the game and got the win for Worthington, throwing 1.2 innings. Heidebrink, Mason Ellenbecker and Easton Sauerbrei also pitched for the Trojans.

WINDOM -- Corey Maras went 3-for-4 at the plate with four RBIs and Mitchell Willhite threw five solid innings as Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove defeated Windom Area 8-1 Tuesday in a high school baseball game.
Maras had a pair of doubles in the game. Cole Pankonin was 3-for-3 for the winners, also with a pair of doubles.
Willhite allowed just four hits and one earned run, walking two and striking out five. Taylor Bunting pitched two innings, allowing one hit and striking out four.
Losing pitcher Kobe Lovell pitched two innings and allowed five runs (three earned).
Hunter Voxland had a pair of hits for the host Eagles.

LAKE CRYSTAL -- Blaney Johnson one-hit Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial as Jackson County Central eased to victory. Johnson walked four and struck out three and the only hit she allowed was to McKenzie Glaubitz.
Jayni Anderson, Ally Ringeisen and Keylee Rossow each had a pair of hits for JCC. Ringeisen, Rossow and Jacey Edlin belted home runs.
Sydney Ziegler took the loss for LCWM.

Maurissa Isaacs was 2-for-3 with 3 RBI’s for the Eagles, while Sydney Erickson was 3-for-4 with an RBI.
Michaela Myers was 1-for-3 with 2 RBIs and a double for RRC/W-WG, Haley Simonson was 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, and Hannah Stevenson was 1-or-3 with an RBI.
Stevenson got the loss for RRC/W-WG.

OKABENA -- Trailing 6-1 heading into the fifth inning didn’t bother Heron Lake-Okabena.
A five-run fifth and a three-run sixth was the difference for the Wildcats in a season-opening victory.
Faith Kazemba recorded the victory for HL-O while striking out seven and issuing just one walk.
Sam Obermoller was 4-for-4 at the plate with a double and three RBI. Jessica VanWesten had three hits and drove in three, while Tessla Crowell had two hits and drove in a pair of runs. Cheyliska Schaffer added two hits for the Wildcats.
HL-O hosts Windom Area Monday.

Adrian triangular
ADRIAN -- Jeremy Vander Woude shot a 43 to earn medalist honors and lead Southwest Christian/Edgerton to a victory in a triangular.
SWC/E had a 198, while Hills-Beaver Creek finished with a 216 and Adrian had a 217 in the boys competition. On the girls side, Adrian had 230, while SWC/E had a 296. H-BC was incomplete.
Marcu Vander Lugt fired a 49 for the SWC boys, while Josh Kreun (52) and Trey Huisken (54) each had scoring rounds. Adrian’s Mitchell Veld had a runner-up score of 48, while John Christians (55), Landon Runia (56) and Brady Henning (58) had scoring rounds. H-BC was led by Dylon Taubert’s 51. Preston Maassen had a 53, Orvil Swenson had a 55 and Noah Hellerud had a 57.
On the girls side, Adrian’s Alexia Kemper had a medalist round of 44, while Annika Elias had a 59. Josi Altman fired a 63, while Gracia Elias carded a 64. SWC/E’s Ella Fondberg had a runner-up 52 and Jennifer Schelhaas had a 56. H-BC’s Tess Van Maanen had a 54.
Fulda triangular
FULDA -- Fulda’s Justin Dierks and Brandon Everett, and Murray County Central’s Tyler Groves each shot 40s to earn medalists honors as Fulda won the boys triangular.
Fulda scored 165, while Murray County Central scored 197, and Red Rock Central scored 225. Murray County Central won for the girls with a score of 206, Fulda scored 233 and Red Rock Central scored 245
Cory Renneke scored 42, and Joe Fischer shot a 43 for Fulda to round out their score.
Emily Schroer and Lynneigh Vrooman each shot 54 for the Fulda girls, Amber Breuker shot a 56.
Jack Pierson shot a 46, and Cole Ahlers shot a 47 for Murray County Central.
Abby Hamman shot a 45 to lead all girls for MCC, while Paige Behrends and Amber Boock shot 53, and Vanessa Dahlgren shot 55.
JCC, Spirit Lake split
SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa -- The Spirit Lake girls edged the Jackson County Central girls, but it was the JCC boys who were victorious.
The boys finished with a 166, while Spirit Lake had a 172. Scott Flatebo was the medalist for the Huskies, while Jack Brinkman had a 40, Austin Haar had a 44 and Carter Olson and Alec Kocak each had a 45.
The JCC girls had a 214, while Spirit Lake had a 194. Abby Benson was the medalist on the day, leading the Huskies with a 41. Sydney Sadusky had a 53, while Julia Bohl had a 57 for JCC.
Luverne 9, Vermillion, S.D. 0
VERMILLION, S.D. -- It was a clean sweep for the Luverne boys tennis team.
The Cardinals won all six singles and three doubles against their South Dakota counterparts.
At No. 1 singles, Chris Jelken won 6-0, 6-0, while Mark Robinson won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2. Jim Erickson won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3, while Cade VerSteeg won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4. At No. 5 singles, Trey Baustian won 6-3, 6-1. At No. 6, Matt Jelken won 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles competition, Dalton Schoenman and Layne Curtis teamed at No. 1 doubles to win 6-2, 6-2. VerSteeg and Erickson won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles, while Robinson and Baustian won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3.
“We were pretty dominant today,” LHS head coach Greg Antoine said. “We have a lot of experience this year and it really helped us in our matches.”
The Cardinals are at Madison (S.D.) on Thursday.

Luverne meet
LUVERNE -- Logan Josephson won three events to lead Redwood Valley to the boys team championship, and Luverne outpointed Southwest Christian to win the girls title at an eight-team meet in Luverne.
Southwest Christian’s Chantel Groen also won three events.
Redwood Valley scored 173 points on the boys’ side while Luverne had 158. Jackson County Central was third with 100.5 points, followed by Southwest Christian 89.5, Hills-Beaver Creek 50, Adrian 45, Ellsworth 40 and Heron Lake-Okabena 21.
Luverne won the girls’ crown with 189 points. Southwest Christian had 136, Redwood Valley 104.5, Jackson County Central 84.5, Hills-Beaver Creek 77, Heron Lake-Okabena 60 and Adrian 14.
Josephson took the 100-meter race in 11.55 seconds, the 200 meters (23.88) and the 300-meter hurdles (44.33). Luverne’s Logan Stratton won the shot put (51-9) and the discus (145-7).
Other area boys winners included Parker Kooima of Southwest Christian in the 800 meters (2:12.31), Zach Scholten of Hills-Beaver Creek in the high jump (6-0) and Matthew Hup of Luverne in the pole vault (12-0). Luverne won the 4x200-meter relay (1:39.92). Southwest Christian won the 4x400-meter relay (3:44.96) and the 4x800-meter relay (9.01.9).
Groen captured the girls 100 meters (13.16), 200 meters (27.33) and long jump (15-11.75). Luverne’s Madison Schandelmeier also had a good day, winning the 800 meters (2:33.58) and being part of two winning relay teams, the 4x400 meters (4:18.56) and 4x800 meters (10:25.83). Luverne’s Bergin Flom won both the high jump (4-8) and pole vault (8-0). Kammon Sawtelle of Luverne won the discus (107-3) and shot put (36-09.5).
Other area girl winners included Brooklyn VerSteeg of Luverne in the 400 meters (1:04.21), Jessica Christoffer of Jackson County Central in the 1,600 meters (5:41.92), Tenley Nelson of Luverne in the 3,200 meters (12:19.81), Sommer Schaap of Southwest Christian in the 100-meter hurdles (17.38), Leah Buys of Southwest Christian in the 300-meter hurdles (51.09) and Sidney Fick of Hills-Beaver Creek in the triple jump (38-3.5).
Luverne also won the 4x200-meter relay (1:51.7).
