OCHEYEDAN, Iowa - Sheldon pitcher Sam Kleinwolterink was masterful Friday as she fired a three-hit shutout in an 8-0 win over Siouxland Conference rival Sibley-Ocheyedan.
The win gave the Orabs the season sweep over the Generals.
Sheldon was already holding a 2-0 lead when it got some breathing room in the top of the fourth. Mackensey Radke drove Caitlin Cain in with a single before a one-bagger off the bat of Jessica Van Beek plated both Radke and Krista Bousema. The three-run inning set the score at 5-0 with Kleinwolterink showing no signs of breaking down.
She finished her night with just three hits allowed while striking out six and issuing not a single walk in the complete-game win. Tayler Wasmund took the loss for S-O as she gave up five earned runs on 12 hits and struck out eight.
Radke had a big night at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored. Cain was 2-for-4 with three runs scored with Van Been and Kleinwolterink adding a pair of hits each.
Erin Swenson, Jill Berkland and Shelby Stanton had a single each for the Generals.
