JACKSON -- Clutch hitting was at a premium Friday night for Jackson's amateur baseball team.

The Bulls had a modest nine hits, but they made them count, en route to a 14-0 victory over Mountain Lake in a First Nite League playoff game.

With the win, Jackson clinched a berth in regionals but will face Fairmont at 2 p.m. Sunday in Fairmont for the top seed.

"We only left six guys on base, so we did have some clutch hitting," Jackson coach Scott Bahr said. "Lately, we've been leaving 10 or 11 guys on base, but we got some key hits tonight."

The Bulls scored two runs -- both on wild pitches -- in the first inning and added another in the fourth to take a 3-0 lead.

Jon Hummel delivered a two-run double, and Blaise Jacobsen belted a three-run home run to highlight Jackson's six-run fifth inning.

Hummel went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, and Jacobsen went 3-for-3 with a home run, a triple, four RBIs, three runs, a walk and a stolen base.

Tom Hady scattered six hits and struck out five over six innings to earn the win for Jackson.
